RIVIO is an experimental chaise longue featuring a lying surface made entirely of off-the-shelf paint rollers. Thanks to the open construction, each roller spins freely, creating a unique kinetic interaction.
Instead of simply sitting down, users can use a bit of momentum to "glide" into the perfect reclining position from the front. Exiting is just as intuitive: a simple push allows you to roll back up to a standing position. Of course, conventional entry and exit from the side remain an option.
The frame is constructed from laser-cut sheet steel, held together by a system of threaded rods and nuts. This mechanical connection makes the furniture piece fully demountable for easy transport or storage.
The design focuses on flexibility: both the front and rear legs can be repositioned along the rods. Adjusting the rear legs, in particular, alters the geometry of the entire lounger, allowing the user to switch between a more upright reading position or a flatter angle for relaxing.
